1 comment:

  1. 1. disciple, responds, obedience, gracious call, follow, Jesus Christ, lifelong process, alive.

    2. A disciple is one who follows Jesus for eternity, we lose our selves, and gain Christ.

    3. The question i have is dying daily, I believe we die once, but we struggle against flesh daily(repentance). The death of our old lives was crucified with Christ, and more focus should be placed on living the new life with Christ. Constantly dying each day makes it so that we lose everyday?
Jesus Christ is alive in us and we know this if a person has the holy spirit in them. How can you recognize it?

    --

    1. Prepare for death, and never be ashamed of him.

    2. Thenn he said to them all "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

    3. Deny self? Dont know.

    4. Trying to present myself as the best candidate for a job, so that I can earn money to survive.

    5. Losing your life for Jesus may make you lose things on this earthly plane but spiritually you are saved eternally.

    6. I need to stop being afraid of losing, because Jesus willingly surrendered his God position to be here with us, I should not fear but have faith.

    1. After a long day, maybe previous days as well, catch has been bad and today yields nothing. As pro fishermen they know its time to quite but Jesus steps in and tells them to do it again. At his command, fish are reeled into the nets.

    2. Jesus is saying he provides the fish.

    3. Peter is conceited in himself prior, because he expects that he himself as a pro fisherman would know where the fish are, but Jesus demonstrates to him he is just a man, and Peter realizes that all men are the same, sinful with evil thoughts.

    4. You catch fish to eat them... but to catch people would be to take them into the kingdom of heaven?

    5. They gave up jobs, families, friends, their old life.

    6. Jesus makes an authentic and strategic act everywhere he goes, appealing to the nature of people and showing them compassion.

    7. The passage makes me wonder how wonderful is Jesus.

    8. "Go away from me Lord, I am a sinful man." This is a start of repentance, when we see who we are, just sinful men. I would write it like this: Lord, depart from me, I am not worthy.
